If it's an Fg F6 turbo, take it to turbotech and demand that they bore it out as the hole is still smaller than a ported BA hausing. They advised against it with my FG housing but just take it there and say you want it done! If so, when?Do you have surging and irregular acceleration?Have you run a static test on the wastegate to see what pressure the wastegate opens? In cases a softer spring IS a better solution. In my experience increasing spring pressure closer to desired boost level is more likely to give you problem controlling bost. In many cases guys just increase spring pressure to reduce waste creep because it gives tuners more money in their pocket as well as a conventionally accepted solution, but boost control is more difficult. The closer you are with desired boost to base actuator spring opening the more likely your are to have boost control problems, in my experience.Brian Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/57877-overboost/page/2/#findComment-913924 Share on other sites

Posted 06/08/09 03:58 PM Share Posted 06/08/09 03:58 PM This is quite strange actually.I have same setup but my car has the CAI on... makes a few KW more.I have the FG XR6T with upgraded compressor wheel to same as FG F6, ported(I hope) and 12psi actuator.Boost control seems fine though Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/57877-overboost/page/2/#findComment-917655 Share on other sites

Posted 30/08/09 01:09 PM Share Posted 30/08/09 01:09 PM I seem to be experiancing this problem now... after adding the more efficiant cooler. My WG is ported out to 38mm and has the larger flapper. Have been reading around on the internet which leaves me curious if it may have something to do with the dump pipe, being somewhat narrow the way the FG turbo is mounted. Attached a photo of dump pipe Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/57877-overboost/page/2/#findComment-927313 Share on other sites
