Obviously if it's few thousand they can make you pay it back but if it's millions kinda hard to make someone come up with that kinds cash.

There a good saying, - "If you owe the bank a thousand dollars, you have a problem. If you owe the bank a million dollars the bank has a problem"

My first stop would be somewhere without an extradition treaty with New Zealand. I'd then find a country with fairly lax banking laws to put the money into. (eg cook islands \ Caymans etc...)

For 7.8 I'd put up with the pain....

Dags, Grit your teeth and bend over.... Aaaahhhhhh. It will only hurt the first few times. lol

Me personally, would not be seeing any time inside. I would take the coin and be gone before they knew it.

My opinion is, Fark the greedy carnts. "Oh our profits are down to $20 billion, lets raise our fees and not pass on interest cuts" Sad thing about it is, if they don't recover the coin, the insurance company will foot the bill, or their poor customers....

Yeah, I f*cking hate bank fees. I got slapped with $54 from Comsec for forgetting to transfer enough funds from the savings account to the cash account during a share purchase settlement. 3 months of petty interest gone!

Does it really cost them $54 for a clerk to click a few extra things on a computer ?

From what I have heard it took around 4 or 5 days from deposit until them leaving and the money being discovered. It sounds like they transferred the cash to a bank in Korea and then went there.
