My XC used to always blow manifold gaskets, this method was a good way to confirm this.

You have very similar mods to me so if it is indeed induction noise then a solution maybe in the throttle settings? Sorry mate, you lost me there. Where do I find my processor code?Interesting point you make re: the throttle settings. I'm not sure if you would be able to tune it out but? Hmmm......I wonder if Alex or Oyay could shed any light? (They aren't round here much these days but...)Definitely not a leak but. I had a leak in mine when I installed it, because the gasket sealer I used was too thin. It blew out straight away and made this awesome screeching noise as the air rushed through the gap. Had to take it all off again, clean it all up and install it with new sealer. Did the WD40 trick too to make sure it was all good. Edited 21/05/09 11:01 PM by exarsixturbo

You're looking for a 4 number/letter code. The noise only occurs when I stab the throttle hard, if I stay on the gas there is no noise. I'm quite certain it isn't a leak. I will try and contact Alex and ask if he has ever come across this noise. 01txr has some ideas with the pcm calibrations so I will have a play on the weekend and see if I can tune around it if it is an induction noise. Just out of curiosity, what will having my code tell you?Good luck with it on the weekend. Definitely let me know what the outcome is, I will be interested to see if you can "tune it" out. Different processor codes have different factory calibrations. Yours should be A3YB but if not I'll run a comparission check between our factory tunes. I'll see if there any differences that could shed some light. Otherwise I will have a play but I doubt I'll be able to fix it.
