Guys I think we need to band together on this one! More heads think better than one.

I am somewhat relieved to realise that I am not the only one with this problem.

Early this coming week, I am going to talk to Consumer Affairs and see what can be done about it.

My reasoning and drive is that we all spent good money to have a ballsy car, a REX eater if you will. I remember when I first got it in Jan, and did a 0-100 test with a mate, we easily did an inexperienced 6.2 seconds. The other day I was pushing to get 7.5. What gives Ford the right to change my/our vehicle/s into one that I/we didn't and possibly wouldn't buy!

After I got these charts done, I gave a copy to the dealer and they sent it to Technical to have a look at. I have been told by CRC that independant evaluations don't hold much weight because Ford knows Fords best!

Last week a higher representative (a DOM) took my car for a forty klm drive. He apparently knows what he is talking about, or so they say! His diagnosis so far is that there is nothing wrong with the vehicle and that I needed to try using Shell Optimax. What a joke!! I have run PULP all its life, even though the specs on the car says that it can run both.

Yesterday, I talked to Grawill, and I have asked them to set another meeting with this DOM. I want him to take me for a drive in my car, and tell me to my face that nothing is wrong with it. There is steam coming out of my ears at the moment!

Anyway, I will keep you all informed on my progess, and I look forward to yours!

keithg,

When I first took delivery in December 02, mine also felt a bit sluggish. it tuned out the boost control valve had not been connected. if you stand on the battery side and look down with a torch between the battery and the fuse/relay box you should be able to see the the valve. It is hard to see and is quite low down. It may help if you follow the 10mm hose from the pressure side of the turbo through the valve and then to the wastegate actuator. the electrically controlled valve has a connector to the wiring harness. I posted some photos of the valve way back in December or January.

The connector may not have been plugged in on your vehicle. it's worth a look.

regards, scott

This is scary and could happen to any of us! There must be an answer and the fact that the computer doesn't register any fault codes does not negate the problem!

Please keep us informed on your progress.

What really pisses me off is that Ford build a super value, potentially world beating car at an affordable price and then shoot themselves in the foot by not looking after customers properly! Don't they understand that its the total ownership experience that counts (take a leaf out of Lexus' book!) It shouldn't be "us and them" when the inevitable problems arise. It should feel like a partnership aimed at maintaining the fun of owning and driving a great car!

Good luck and try to keep calm and in control of the situation.

Regards

zeke

Of course the above comments assumes that the facts are as you presented them and that nothing you have done has caused the problem. (As I see it, this is a good argument against modifying the car - 'cause then you end upwith the inevitable bunfight about who's responsible for any problems)

Im am so glad I am not the only one having this problem, my car runs ok but there is no way it is running right. Compared to the test car I drove before I purchased my T, my car runs worse than a N/A.

Just tonight a vy11 V8 calais pulled up along side me with 5 adults in it and he blew me away at the lights it really was embarising.

WE NEED HELP!! :(

Had a look at the Plug and its all connected OK. I gave it a jiggle though in desparation that it might fix the issue. I doubt it though. Thanks for your feedback.

Yes good point Zeke.

It is my opinion, and not for the reasoning to take business off Vendors that sell upgrades etc, that vehicle owners with this problem set aside the temptation of modifying the vehicle to get the lost power back. This action will only complicate matters in the future.

My progress today is that I have sent a letter off to Fair Trading asking them to confirm our rights as consumers if infact Ford has changed the performance of our vehicles either directly or indirectly through a software malfunction etc.

I am also going to get another dealers opinion, I am going to get Dean at ELN to go for a run with me and see what he thinks, next week.
