rushed6 Member 137 Member For: 19y 3m 5d Gender: Male Location: Victoria Posted 19/05/09 10:58 AM Share Posted 19/05/09 10:58 AM ok people I know its not a xr6 but I have a xr8 ute which I'm superchargine I have been offered a 6 speed auto it is currently a 4sp so here it is how much is involved eg do I need an adapter plate even though they do use the same blocks and never have changed hem also the computer will need to be changed as well and what does this do to the icc as I have premium sound does it lock any of this out and is it a relativly trouble free conversion?dont mean to be harsh with the topic description just seems there are alot of people who like to know it all but actually put a tool in thier hand they know f*ck all. If your ute is currently standard then you'd be better off trading up rather than going to the expense of fitting the ZF and everything that's required with it. No problems, just slip the 6sp in, works with the 4 speed computer and you can use the existing bellhousing and driveshaft.No problems mate, just do it.
