Few months later caught up with him at the strip and apparently he had everything done to it including turbo, cooler, ECU, internals THE LOT and he told me he was pushing around 350rwkw. By that stage I had in addition to injectors, cat and tune I had cooler, fuel pump, ported wastegate and 12psi actuator, anyway lined up again and once again I mauled him but this time by about 2 car lengths so he had improved. Went to the same dyno shop not long after and had my car dynod it made 296.4rwkw his car was also dynod and made 307rwkw, when I asked him how much he'd spent on his car all he told me was "lets just say minimum 15k on the engine". There was either something not right about the car or he was just a driver lol. Another skyline I have raced was an R33 GTS-T this thing was worked and pretty quick, big turbo, internals etc. We raced and were neck and neck neither could pull away. Found out not that long ago that it has around 296rwkw as well lol. I dont mind a nice clean skyline with tasteful mods they can be real weapons when modified the right way and GTRs are just plain sex but I think id take my T over a non-GTR skyline anyday. I think Torque might have a bit to do with it (4ltr ford has a bit of an advantage over 2.5ltr skyline) although the old r31 rb30 started my love affair with straight sixes - loved that car.http://autospeed.com/cms/article.html?&A=22518 Sec 0-100 for an R34 GTST Edited 20/05/09 01:48 AM by rockafellqeinstien
tmac450 Member 1,650 Member For: 18y 7m Gender: Male Location: NSW Posted 20/05/09 03:36 AM Share Posted 20/05/09 03:36 AM But then again the thread is about Skylines....the majority of which are not GT-Rs........I wouldnt take any Skyline GTST or whatever over my F6.Yep.Even Nissan had now seperated them. The R35 GTR is now a stand alone model, it's not a Skyline at all.

I put 3 different turbos on it and all tuned by myself. Peak power wasnt really impressive but the midrange torque was especially running over 20psi. On cold nights, roll ons would result in spin in 3rd gear when coming onto boost with no help from the clutch. With its low weight and midrange torque what made it a very quick street car, but you also had to be a very good driver to go quick without constantly going sideways. that's where the GTR shines, no loss of traction and hopefully the F6 is better as well. But as a everyday car I got sick of the bumpy ride, and sit much more comfortable in the F6. Love the auto in city traffic and cant wait to do a few nice mods to do a comfortable 12 second pass. I must be getting old.

Two weeks ago I went passenger around Hidden Valley track in a GTR (Aussie version R32 I think) with an awesome driver. It was like that video (obviously it wasn't as quick, but it felt that quick). The thing defy's physics on the corners. I swear it would have beaten the V8 Supercars if they were on the track. Though the oil temp went through the roof after the lap and it took three normal laps to get the temps back to normal and that's with the oil cooler. In a straight line and for cruising around town I'd take a T anyday. If I was racing around a track no question I'd grab a GTR over a T. That's why they had to change the rules in the Supercars coz the GTR's just lapped everything. Regarding other skylines, I'd never own a skyline unless it was a GTR the rest are just ricercrap, most T's would beat normal skylines.
