I have a piece of string that is 204mm long - can I mod it so that it will be better than your 305mm piece?

How long do you reckon it'll end up once I've modded it?

mate in all seriousness it comes down to how much u want to spend on mods

I have a vast range of upgrades rangeing from stage 1 (roughly 30-40mm gains)

all the wway upto big dawg stage 5 ( where u can expect upto 300mm gains) <<this kit has even been pushed to 500mm gains!!!!

theres plenty of other ppl that do these sort of lengths but they use much lower quality string its an accident waiting to happen :beerchug:

but if u want to just b a ruler queen go ahead use the thugs,

but if true quality workmanship is what your after n u want your string to do what a string does best time after time im here mate :ermm:

cheers,

Brandons string exensions

It wasnt intended as an "everlasting" topic and one that had to be brought down to comparing string lengths

it was the fact that Skylines get talked up so much and every fool in a skyline thinks he's driving a GTR

same as every fool in a lancer thinks he's driving an evo

So I was just out to see if people were seeing the same things as I was...I wasnt out to "diss" or undermine anyones cars or preference in car.

my personal opinion is that the xr6t will give you much better bang for your buck and I'd personally rather have one because its a roomy comfortable large sedan with some serious ball kicking capability.

that's my opinion anyway.

I like Skylines and have built some fast ones, but I LOVE FORDS.

At the end of the day,

THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT for DISPLACEMENT.

Ford has 4.0 ltr capacity.

Skyline has, 2.0, 2.5 or 2.6 ltrs in capacity depending on the model.

The 4.0 ltr will obviously produce more power and torque (to a degree, dependant on modifications) THAN THE SMALLER ENGINES.

Larger displacement gives greater exhaust volume which allows larger turbos to be used with less lag, also allowing turbos to spool to full boost quicker.

Larger capacity also allows for higher power levels to be made at lower rpm, less stress and wear on the engine.

I like to build Skyline engines with an RB30 bottom end with twin cam 25 or 26 head.

Using the larger 3.0 ltr displacement for the reason I have stated above.

A full house RB26 or RB30/25/26 can make massive power with big boost and very high rpm, 10 000 rpm plus.

A 4.0 LTR can produce these figures also but achieve it at a more sensible rpm.

In a nutshell the 4.0 outshines the RB for POTENTIAL with bang for buck in my opinion.

But I still must admit a TUFF GTR does it for me.

Couldnt sleep so I thought I'd dribble some crap.

Alright had to say something!!!

Was it 2002 xr6t released?

Take the 2002 xr6t and a 2002 bottom of the line turbo skyline 2002.

t = 260 odd rwhp and the skyline I dont know I really should for this post. But put both of them on the strip and who wins. That is where the comparison should be in stock for $ for $ I know the answer to this but can u all put aside the I have 400 hp and smashed him of it or vice versa. Does anyone agree to this comparison being the fairest?????????

That'd do me niiiiiiicely! Cheap monza cooler too he points out, along with injectors and "max of 16.5psi tapering down to 14psi to make 346kw at the wheels" and CV tuned. Value++ for 12.0xx seconds!
