Top bit of timing chain guide, plastic buffer snapped off and ended up going between chain and crank sprocket. Caused timing to jump 2 teeth at the crank and was making some death noises. We corrected the timing and retested comps and found low comp mainly on no1. Air leak tested that cylinder and it seems to have bent inlet valves as its just pumping air out the throttle body. Apparantely this is a common thing but was the first one I had seen. Goodluck with it. Member 1,742 Member For: 16y 10m 12d Gender: Male Location: Earth Posted 24/05/09 11:28 AM Share Posted 24/05/09 11:28 AM Ended up being a timing guard had broken off and ended up caught between the timing chain and oil pump. Chain and pump okay so while the engine is out I'll be replacing oil pump gears with billets. Cheers for the feedback.Glad you found something, however it doesn't explain your 'unburnt fuel or oil spitting from rear exhaust pipe'??
