Wandering if this problem is common, I'm new to the turbo world, and I recently bought a Force 6, It already had injectors a high flow cat and tune. Anyway car worked flawless for three weeks until the other day, I was sitting on 60km/hr and punched it, the turbo kicked in and then a serious rattle noise came from engine bay. I got the car home, the car idles erraticly up and down has sharp loud metal tapping/rubbing noises coming from either the engine or turbo, the turbo doesn't seem to be working and its got what seems to be either unburnt fuel or oil spitting from rear exhaust pipe. Any ideas?

Hate to say,but that doesnt sound very promising.Id start with getting a compresion test done and see what you come up with.Unless you have a good look around and find something more obvious. :beerchug:

if you heard a rattling from the engine bay, it was pinging its head off and I dare say your up for an engine rebuild.

If the motor still runs I'd say its either bent a rod or fried a couple of rings - as the others say mate, doesn't sound like its gonna be a cheap fix...

Pull the intake pipe off the front of the turbo and have a look.

If there is oil or coolant present in there that could be your problem as well as something amiss in the engine.

Good luck.

Possibley a valve spring broken from over rev.. Could be anything.. Where are you? I`d have a browse through the advertisers section and find someone close to you and give `em a call.

Ended up being a timing guard had broken off and ended up caught between the timing chain and oil pump. Chain and pump okay so while the engine is out I'll be replacing oil pump gears with billets. Cheers for the feedback.
