Anyway car worked flawless for three weeks until the other day, I was sitting on 60km/hr and punched it, the turbo kicked in and then a serious rattle noise came from engine bay. I got the car home, the car idles erraticly up and down has sharp loud metal tapping/rubbing noises coming from either the engine or turbo, the turbo doesn't seem to be working and its got what seems to be either unburnt fuel or oil spitting from rear exhaust pipe. Any ideas? Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/57712-serious-metal-to-metal-noises-from-engine/ Share on other sites

Any ideas?Ended up being a timing guard had broken off and ended up caught between the timing chain and oil pump. Chain and pump okay so while the engine is out I'll be replacing oil pump gears with billets. Cheers for the feedback. 1 Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/57712-serious-metal-to-metal-noises-from-engine/#findComment-880761 Share on other sites
