I also seem to have excessive backlash between gear changes as well as other times, does anyone else have this excessive noise? its an xr6t man. When I let the throttle off when givin it a bit I feel it pretty bad. got ford to have look at it and apparently it's only the spare wheel????????? I'll have the car on a hoist this weekend, Any ideas on what to look for if uni's are flogged out yet??

I am a mechanic myself and they treat me like im a fu&^n idiot. have checked my spare tyre and it is firmly secured. in regards to checking the unis, you need to hold either side of the joint and rotate them in opposite directions back and forth and feel for movement. if you have a 4 post hoist, that would be best because the uni will be at its normal operating angle. if you use a 2 post hoist the uni angle will increase due the suspension drop

What is the best thing to do if it has play in it? go to ford and tell them it's farked and demand the replace it or get a 3rd party involved? Posted 18/08/09 07:43 AM Share Posted 18/08/09 07:43 AM I want to lower my ute but this whole rear end BS is stopping me for the time being. Not had to much luck with the car so far so sods law says a few hours after a visit to mr suspension shop the rear will sh*t itself.

I had my ute up on the hoist at work and saw that the diff bushes were starting to perish, so I told ford and they came back and said they have tightened up all the suspension to rectify the noise and I was like WTF u idiots!! WTF. I'm no expert but I'm not that stupid. On friday it's going to ford for the 5th time to have the leather base of the drivers seat fixed. I'm not sure if they can be trusted with the driveline. They can't even organise an upholsterer to fix the effin seat Edited 19/08/09 09:02 AM by GMH8R
