I spoke to a Ford foreman today and he hadn't heard much about the BF tail shafts going into the FG's. That didnt suprise me.

He wanted to point the finger at me for causing the issue by lowering the car and any other work I'd done. This was without looking at the car.

I havnt noticed any issue's with the tail shaft yet. Ive noticed it shudder a few times but ive stopped launching the car really hard of late. I know its going to be alot more expensive to replace one that's broken then it will be to replace it now.

So what are the options when looking to upgrade to a stronger tail shaft?

I have a new FG XR6T Ute with 915k's on the clock, my whole rear axel has moved to the left, Ford has stated that it is within the specs but two independent suspension experts have disagreed. It has a noise in the rear as well but Ford has refused to budge, I dont load it with anything but Ford accused me of doing burnouts which is stupid cause the tyres are still brand new. I am taking my complaint to consumer affairs and the MTA, has anyone else had this problem with the rear axel??

Hi guys

I am also getting my suspension tightened as the car bottoms out on bumps on the highway, a little hard to steer clear of when your doing 100+ kms an hour.

Has anyone else had any issues like this or am I the only lucky one?

Mine bottoms out on invisible bumps in the road too.. good loud bang like metal on metal .. have to have a look and try to figure it out one day.. ford tried to tell me it was a loose exhaust bracket????? what loose bit of rubber or loose weld??? me thinks they think I am stupid..

Funny that.. they work there for 5 bucks an hour and drive a dunger I dont and I am the stupid one go figure

yep had problems with mine too I snaped the tail shaft where it goes into the diff whist trying the launch control feature

had it repalced no worries then had a squeek from thew diff , that was a bent axle , uni joints were getting hot as well

finally last week they replaced the whole diff no dramas now

im the one that destroyed the unijoint with my brand new (couple of weaks old, about 2-3000ks) fg, and eventhough no one believes me I wasnt doing anything stupid, its an auto, had nothing in the back and was under about 2/3 throttle. it broke the whole unijoint and I kept the piece that fell on the road and it was showing excessive uneven wear, like it had done 100 000 kays. It was probably wasn't fitted properly at the factory, mine would have been the one of the first built, ford replaced the tailshaft, no worries. I havnt had a problem since. does anyone know if the F6 runs the same tailshaft?

I think you can add me to the list of blown cv's. I have a s@it load of clunking (which feels like back lash) coming from my tail shaft. I have only done 4000 km on it, but it is lowered in the rear. what are the options available at this stage?
