These laws SUCK.

It is another typical knee jerk reaction to a problem that has been around for 50 years.

As usual the media have taken some incidents and painted the whole bikie community with the same brush, just like they have done with Hoons, footballers and bankers.

The only problem I see with these laws is where does it end? With the crack down on Hoons on the streets are legitimate car clubs going to be classed as outlaw gang of hoons. I know its a little way off but what is stopping them from turning their attention to these when they are done with the bikies, I agree in part with the laws but at the same time disagree with them.

I can see these laws as being a major problem for us car enthusiasts. Cause lets face it were all hoons at heart....

Terrorists groups, bikies, next there will be a law preventing car enthusiasts from having cruises etc. It's only a matter of time. 8 years ago, there used to be meets on Friday nights in the top carpark at Scarborough (few of the WA guys might have gone!) beach. Majority of the the time people were well behaved. That carpark was closed off. Same with Captain Munchies carpark in Fremantle.

To the general public car enthusiasts (unless your over 40 or so when it appears its ok!) arent quiet as bad as the bikies but I tell you we arent far off. Only a matter of time til it really gets difficult for us to enjoy our cars.

As with all of thses knee jerk laws, what's the point?

Why are special laws needed to cover activities that are already illegal?

Just get on with enforcing the damn laws, not creating segmented laws of different sections of the community.

This country is really headed into the toilet. The problem is that anyone who want's to offer real leadership commits political suicide, so leadership has become all about headline grabbing and bogging the public down with information overload so as to distract them from the real issues at hand.

To anyone who is defending bikie gangs you have obviously never been stood over or had your livelihood threatened by them, because that is what they do to people. It is organised crime, end of story.

But they do a toy run once a year to look after the sick kids....they must be nice people

I certainly don't stick up for them, they are typically a bunch of crims, but the new legislation being thrown around is over the top. Like others have mentioned - what's next?

This topic wasn't meant to defend bikies in any way, it's about the laws that have been brought into place.

All the time I see laws come into place that affect the majority but are only there because of the minority. Which leaves the rest of us open for abuse when the people in power see fit. I hadn't of even thought about hoons or car clubs being one of these associations that are outlawed, it's scary to think that it's completely possible for a few people to be able to do that to us now.

Its very scary because it will happen to us. Maybe not this year, maybe not the next but mark my words it will. From there onwards, it'll be pointless having a fast / nice car. Track day costs are rising (I have organised 3 or 4 for the WA lads in the last 10-12months so I know), fewer decent backroads you can go have some fun on etc etc

While I know many bikies are no angels and this will get me flamed, a few live nearby, cause no trouble and I tell you we dont have any problems with natives hanging around... Godsend that one

All you have to remember is politicians made these laws, so as to be seen to do something abouit a problem that was gaining puluic awarness through a media interested ina beat up and ratings.

These laws will do fark all to actually solve the issues and by the time this is discovered the aformentioned politicians will be out of governement and on a fat taxpayers supported pension.

I am all for banning politicians and after recent episodes the bloody media.

f*ck how dumb are we as a general poulation, I mean I always knew masses were dumb, but to the extent as displayed recently I sextremely disheartening.
