I'm not the kinda guy who likes something that's bloody quick in a stright line, and then a dog in the corners, but the FG is supposed to be pretty decent. How does one upgrade the steering? Is it just suspension/wheels/tyres? Or is there something else? The only other thing that it seems pretty much every reviewer is unhappy with on the FG are the brakes...but they also mention it would be very difficult to upgrade as all the electronics and stuff are integrated and changing stuff could cause issues...maybe these questions are better off somewhere else actually... Then bought a TD Landcruiser also, boring inside, tough driveline, but Pajero's are nicer

The BA T is everything I hoped it would be, and more. They respond so well to mods. With the XR8, I was talking 10 - 30rwkw changes from big money.. With the T we're taking 30-60rwkw just from a bolt on and a re-tune.There isn't another car I'd drive after owning the T for a few months now.. Simply beautiful to cruise in, and a weapon when you put the boot in, simply because they respond so well to mods.Sure you could get an import, but parts are going to be more expensive, insurance as well.. XR6T all the way for me. Edited 18/05/09 02:11 AM by Christiaan
RSK Member 340 Member For: 17y 2m 15d Gender: Male Posted 25/05/09 01:16 AM Share Posted 25/05/09 01:16 AM Few reasons:1. Wanted to be able to take friends/family in comfort rather then a crammed rear seat found in most 2 seaters (think skyline/200sx/180sx etc)2. 2 door coupes were too crammed/confined/tight for me3. Was thinking of a V8 Expensive Daewoo but after weighing up mod potential the T's were a far better choice 4. WRX's had transmission issues, and were more expensive then T's at the time5. An evo was out of my price range6. Any 4wd stye car needed to be reved to 6000rpm+ to get a sub/5sec 0-100 time, which could get you in trouble with cops etc. After buying and editing the T, I'll never look back. Posted 27/05/09 10:00 AM Share Posted 27/05/09 10:00 AM We bought our T while we were looking for another car to replace our written off BA Mk2 XR8 ...... My wife was so happy with that car that she wanted another exactly the same, with the same options, colour etc.... After years of owning optioned up Fairmonts V8's, Mustangs, GT's and stuff......even a Bronco..... we were really V8 fans ( especially my wife) and never really considered much else......and after looking high and low we could only find one car optioned up with the same stuff as the XR8......in an acceptable colour as well. The only difference was that it was an XR6 Turbo......I figure...what the hell, lets try something different.....I've never owned a turbo car before..... :banghead2: After much coersion, she agrees to look at it, outside gets thumbs up, inside is the same and she checks the options.......then she lifts the bonnet, turns to me and says....."I think Im gonna' be sick".....what the hell do you want one of these things for? :banghead: In the end, she says, "Ok, we'll give it 12 months......and if I don't like it, we'll get rid of it and buy another XR8 or a GT right?" "And it feels doggy down low so if you can do something about that and the crappy exhaust note then I'll give it a go for a year".....(Iv'e since modded the exhaust and had it edited so she's all happy now) That was 3 years ago, so I figure it's grown on her....... If I had my time over would I buy it again? Probably......but in hindsight, I wish I'd waited a little longer and bought a Typhoon instead..... It took me a lot longer than I expected to adjust my driving style to get the most out of it. After years of driving V8's......they are two different animals. Venom XR Turbo Member 63 Member For: 21y 3m 5d Gender: Male Posted 28/05/09 05:04 PM Share Posted 28/05/09 05:04 PM Hi,I was looking at the Porsche 944 Turbo, 98 BMW M3 (3.2L), BA2 XR6T, BA1 GT, R32 GTR or R33 GTS-T. Im surprised to see so many other people were considering the Porsche too! If I got the Porsche, ide have left it stock because its a Porsche and a (almost) classic, however if I got a Nissan R32 GTR or R33 GTS-T it would be a modded weapon in no time.Suddenly, a mint BA2 F6 with leather and sunroof came on the market for an unbelievable price and viola- im in. I only liked the XR6T and F6 with mods in mind... I dont think that they are a great drive unless they have over 330rwkw... too understeery when pushed and bulky (I realise more money can solve this, to an extent), and very (almost boringly) slow in a straight line in stock form. If I was to buy a car from this group that wasnt being modded, and just left it stock, it would easily be a 98 BMW M3 for $30ish K. With 236kw, they are so much fun, so much more classy, such better quality, handle better, ride better, quieter inside, stop better and sound better than any Ford turbo for the same money (although some dont like its (too) discrete styling and it looks very 90s -still gorgeous though IMO). I think its still actually my favorite car out of the bunch... just isnt in the same league in the toe-plant department as a 360+rwkw F6 though.Ive read you gan get very good value M3 supercharger kits... ;-DVenom

I initially said F&^K no, its a ford, and its not a V8... I went anyway and drove an FG XR6T ZF and was sold on the spot. They even had a Demo in teh colour I wanted with all the options I wanted. Signed the paperork and have been in love ever since. Have had it for Nearly 2 months and 5000kms and its an amazing car. Will be upgrading to an FG F6 in 12-18 months...
