Probably worth as much as a VL commie is now :nono:

Hey don't laugh , have you looked at the price of a good cond turbo vl , you won't get one under 10k which isn't bad for a 20 plus Expensive Daewoo that doesn't even have an Expensive Daewoo engine

I think we own an iconic car. years ago you could get a XY dirt cheap now there getting expencive. I dont the the stock Xr6 T will but I do think GT and F6 will be alot in 30 years in mint con but not as much as the XY GTHO.

unfortunately most are daily drivers and have all the usual bumper scrapes, trolley dings and rubber rust proofing under the rear guards.

I doubt many here will still have them in 30 years to find out. I'll be happy if I'm still here

Are xr6 turbos going to be valuable in 30 years,im not talking gtho valuable there will probably be nothing ever like that again.See I have the chance to swap my 05 xr6 turbo 6 sp man for an XW GS,no not a v8,not even a matching nos car but it is a tidy cruiser. It has original trim -black ,steerring wheel ,doesnt have the original wheel trims just period correct 12 slotters. It has a fresh 2V 250 matched to a factory toploader it s got new brakes and like I said Its tidy. This vehicle, provided its maintained will alway be worth $20K+.I know that in 30 years it will probably be worth just as much if not maybe a little more my question is xr6 turbos being the first factory turbo 6 made by ford will it be in the same class or just another xr6.any opinions welcome

Ford actually made an XE ESP Turbo back in 83. It ran around 193kws and 530nm and they apparently sold about 15-18 of them.

I doubt the XR will ever be worth much in years to come, it will be more like the VL is today. The only models that will hold some sort of value are the limited edition models.

They weren't factory though, the turbo instalations were done by an outside supplier, just like the Dick Johnson grand prix turbos or the AIT turbo jobs. Ford never produced and sold any turbo Falcons before the BA. They might have played with them earlier, from what I remember they were going to make the DJ turbo XE's, but they pulled the plug on it so DJ had to go it alone.

Durability was the reason they decided not to do it.

I have a friend who owns one, and he told me Ford honored the warranty. Only a hand full were made so they are definitely a keeper.

The XR6 Turbo like many have said would fall under the VL category in years to come.
