I been looking at these coolers, is it possible to mount it a bit higher as it seems to be sitting a little low? But looks pretty good in my opinion

Read the above post.

If you don't want to do that, purchase the cooler and have the outlets cut off and weld on 2

45 deg pipes so it goes under the chassis rails.

Even if it cost another $100 to $200 to do it, it still is a lot cheaper than what other ones are

on offer to fit our cars.

Mine is the larger but thinner version to the kit they do.

It will be put to the test once I get my new setup on, TO4z, Plazmaman Plenum etc.

As far as the BF goes, you cannot get the cooler any higher as the Air con pipe is in the way. The Hdi kit I have sits directly in the middle, 01txr, are we talking about the same Hdi kit? I know there was an earlier one. I dont see the point spending any money on this kit to modify it to try and get it up higher. You may as well go buy a Process West or Rapid kit.

cant give any pictures as ca is together and not pulling apart any time soon.

What I removed was the metal that obstructs the cooler from going any higher.

if you sit your cooler in place, have a look at what stops it.

I will try to get some pictures of how mine sits in its fitted position, wont be until the weekend.

I didn't opt for the kit as already had plazmaman pipes and plenum, I just order the GT Series

600x300x76mm cooler. I was told it would support a little more power than the kit cooler.

It cost me $400.

I mentioned removing the excess metal of the chassis rails to get the cooler higher, It would be

a easier option to just have the outlets altered to go down and around the chassis rails.

The reason I choose the HDI was price to quality.

01txr - The Hdi kit for the XR6T is not one of the off the shelf Hdi intercoolers you probably have bought. The XR6T Hdi kit uses a 100mm thick intercooler compared to your 75mm GT series intercooler. This kit also requires you to cut into the bumper bar steel reinforcement, but the air con line gets in the way stopping it from going up higher. I have taken some crap pics in my garage, might update them when the car is out in the driveway and clean!

Can't bend the line up more?

Damn wish this kit didn't use the stock crossover and could be optioned with a CAI  Going for 600 on ebay, with a CAI and piping that doesn't use the stock crossover surely it could be sold for like 800 :crybaby:

You could add an under headlight cold air intake like the ones sold by Process West or Rapid. Also you could cut down the stock crossover and just retain the throttle body side. I might do it....

Im sure someone will correct me if im wrong but Process West make a crossover replacement that can then utilise the Under Battery CAI. Not sure about the fit with the HDI piping but could be an option to look at RSK
