Personally, I couldn't give a f*ck less what happens to the bloke.

Anyone dumb enough to jeopardise their career as a high profile sportsman and "role model" () by getting involved in antics like this should get used to copping it sweet.

I mean, he may not be a rocket scientist but it doesn't take a genius to know that gangbangs, regardless of consent or circumstance don't go over well with corporates and major sponsors AND open you up to the "he said, she said" rape / sexual misconduct quagmire that has become all the rage for women and the tabloid media looking to make some quick coin.

It's interesting that I know of 3, that's right 3! Almost identical stories to this one, which happened in my home town in country Victoria, all involving... you guessed it, footy players.

Having said that, all 3 of those incidents involved younger girls, who weren't blind drunk, consensually engaging in varying degrees of f*cked up sexual sh*t with older footy guys, presumably because they were "star struck" (for want of a better phrase).

One of those stories VERY nearly got a close mate of mine thrown in jail... funnily enough, about 3 years after the fact.

And why? Because the girl said she was 18 when she was 16, then jumped into a spitroast with a few guys, then went and blew another dude out the back of the party and NOW she regrets it???

I'm sorry but I have very little sympathy for these sluts and it really makes my blood curdle when most of society instantly jumps on the female's side, regardless of facts or evidence and proceeds to victimize the girl and demonize the guy(s).

Sure it goes both ways and it's not always cut and dried but the term "innocent until proven guilty" often seems to get lost in the emotion of these cases.

BRB, joining a footy team... I've never had a fourgy or a fivesome. :(

The fact is this this guy is a role model for people of all ages including kids. When he chose to take that role just like many other celebrities and become the face of NRL and the footy show etc he needed to be sensitive to how it would look if it came out in the media. Oh n not to mention he has a wife! Famous or not that's a dogs act regardless

Matty had consensual sex with a female, his only faults WERE that he was married at the time, and that he allowed the other players to continue.

However saying that, nothing was mentioned about the female wanting to leave at any time whatsoever.

To come out 1 year or 7 years later shouldn't alter the outcome. She had willing consensual sex with 2 players, had debateable sex with many more but was never held back or forced to have this sex (from my understanding), only told the police 1 week later who then investigated and did not charge one single person.

Matthew Johns is being singled out because he is the only one she remembers!!!!!

WHY, because she was star struck and wanted some!!!!!

I agree with both of these posts, I for one don't condone these actions, but when women throw themselves at these guys because they have fame and money what do they expect. But when they don't like the outcome they complain and drag people through the mud, ther's a lesson to be learnt here if you dont want to end up like that dont put yourself in the situation that it can happen.

What both the NRL and Channel 9 need to realize is that Matty Johns is not the reason both the game and the station have come under some hard times.

Matty is their fall guy but dropping him will not fix the game or station and their ratings problems.

I think there is the problem that other media outlets like to see NINE hurting after so many years on top and with that comes suffering for the NRL.

The NRL should have dropped NINE not Johns.

The guy couldnt lie straight in bed, he has contradicted himself at least 5 times in his version of events that night. Anyone who thinks its ok to degrade women in that way is a heartless piece of sh*t.

Wether it was consensual or not, to allow a woman to be subjected to that sort of an event shows what sort of a person you are - a dog

As for the hes a target cause hes a footballer or popular, well of course he is if you engage in a career that promotes you as a role model and you cash in on that well then deal with teh consequences when you do something like this. that's the problem with footballers they want all the rewards but none of the consequences.

Also interesting to note 20 people think its ok to cheat on your wife, degrade a woman and treat her like meat, Lie and then cry hard done by, wonder how those 20 would feel if it happened to there daughter.

As we are all aware it happened 7 years ago. As others have said if she had such a problem with it then why didnt she come forward at the time. I know 4 corners may be one of the better current affair shows but I doubt she would have spoken if she wasnt paid some coin.

I dont think he should be dropped as assistant coach of the storm. That is a bit harsh.
