a screamer pipe is the pipe that attaches to the wastegate outlet of the turbo. most are 'plumbed back' into the exhaust systen further down. the one in the picture is vented to the atmosphere with no muffling at all, thus a usually very loud 'scream'.

very loud, very illegal. you would be cop bait with something like this, and they would more than likely look at any other mods while they were at it.

go for a good reputable brand. I'm using a pacemaker 3.5" with a 1.5" wastegate pipe, going to a 'hi flowed' cat then on to a redback twin 2.5". no resrtrictions, not too loud.

leave the screamers to the rice boys....

its a good idea to split the exhaust from the wastegate gasses. if they mix straight from the get go, some believe that the back pressure stops the turbo being able to spool as quick. depending on the power level you are chasing, it may not make too much of a diffference....

There was a thread on here about a year or so ago where someone tested both, a 4" single and a split. From memory one had more mid range and the other top end but the difference was fairly small. Try looking for the thread.
