Hi all,

0 - 100 km/h in 4 seconds. 4L / 100 km's? And it's a 6.6L turbo! Diesel of course.

980 rpm at 113 km/h. It's a shame it costs $170k. It shows what can be done with a diesel engine.

Given that diesel requires LESS refining than petrol, why is it so expensive? Check out this GoAuto article:

With the Audi R8 V12 turbo diesel gone, this car will fill the gap nicely :)

170K is kind of cheap for a car of that calibre, there are reasons why it isn't 80K as you'd like:

1. Low volume production car - you get smaller discounts for buying parts in low numbers

2. Overhead costs (R&D, staffing, equipment costs, etc) spread over a smaller revenue base.

3. Taxes

4. Making it dirt cheap won't necessarily draw in enough extra customers to increase the total profit.
