Hey bloosted, I might just take you up on your offer... what you doing tomorrow?

Is yours the FG model? Does your XR6T have the same size turbo as the G6ET? or is it the same as the one in the BA/BF?

tom

yeah tomm would be fine I will pm you my number, yep the have the same smaller turboand to be honest I like it better if your looking for 310ish rwkw then the smaller turbo feels a lot stronger down low, what size wheels are on the G6E? coz I put 19" GT wheels on mine and cannot believe how much noisier it made it :beerchug: and I have dumped mine on its arse and put coilovers on so don't expect it to be smooth like the luxo barge

Turbotom your also welcome to drive my G6Eturbo and do a comparison to the "dealer test car" G6ET that you drive.

Only mechanical mods to my car (so far) are XR8intake/lower airbox and kings SSL springs.

Thanks guys....

You know... women are funny critters!

Here I am trying to find her a nice replacement for her Mazda 6, and she isn't too rapt in the G6ET.

"That shiny black plastic dash will scratch!" she says.

"It's too big" she cry's.

"It doesn't have the fit and finish of my Mazda" she even decrees.

WTF!

She makes me take her down to the Mazda dealership.

We look at the flash new Mazda 6 luxury sport in the showroom.

"There's no centre dash console for my sunnies in this model!"

"These seats feel less comfortable than mine" she states emphatically.

"How come there's less headroom in the back seat than my 4 year old model!"

She wasn't impressed with that either.

So as we turn to walk out..... she says.....

"What's this car?"

She was looking at a CX7 Mazda.

It's an AWD SUV sports crossover ??? Never even seen one before. Never talked about them. Never ever considered an SUV.

It was a very nice shiny gloss black, with contrasting bone leather interior.

It was roomier, just as opulent, and had the same BOSE audio system tha the Luxo 6 has.

"I like it she says!"

"Que?" my response.

So we arrange a test drive.

This thing actually has a 2.3litre turbo charged donk in it.

with a 6 sp auto box and all wheel drive.

4 wheel disks, 18" alloys, and did I say it actually looks quite cool.

Drives quite nice ... not like a truck like I thought. Very quiet inside too.

Sits a bit high for my liking, and hers too.

She asks if it can be dropped... "about 4" "she says, "and it needs some nice shiny chrome rims."

Yep. Sometimes these women can really surprise a guy. :censored:

The CX7 loves to drink the fuel too.

I traded a modded MPS3 (same disi 2.3 engine as the CX7 just with a bit more power) and damn my G6ET is getting slightly better economy than it!

yes... I was wondering about that too ( fuel consumption)

It weighs over 1700 kg! And I guess with only 2.3 litres, it's under boost more often than the 4 litre I6 turbo.

I'm trying to get her to keep her options open, and look at a few more cars and make a decision based on hard facts and actual test drives...

But you know women..... when they go shopping they buy on impulse! :spit:

I have a G6ET and the wife has a CX7 and I get alot better fuel economy that her city driving and interstate driving, as we have driven both cars to Sydney and back.

There a few mods around including ecu for the cx7, IC and intake which will see its 0-100 times in the mid 6's. The CX7 is a great second car to drive around and I cant fault it beside the less than average fuel economy

Go to the www.ozmazdaclub.com

also look at ozmps.com

Most power up parts for the mazdas can be bought from mps garage ( http://www.mpsgarage.com.au/shop/search/102/cx7.html ) in sydney although I bought all my parts direct for my MPS from the manufacturers in the USA

Im on both those forums due to owning a MPS before I bought the foulcoon.

I hear that mate, I bought my wife an Aurion, but she really wanted a Territory, so a couple of months later, I sent her out to get one and she came back with an XR6 Turbo for me! Territory was nice, but it's nothing on the Turbo!

When I put the foot down the turbo in my G6ET makes a high pitch whistling sound when it's on song moreso between 2k-4.8k rpm range. Abit unexpected at first but used to it now. I find it a quiet, comfortable and tidy cruiser under boost but will turn feral very quickly when provoked!

IMHO this car has an insane amount of torque and power, anymore it will become a grenade!

Anyway good luck with your car search TurboTom.
