Fg Dash Lighting

hey all,

Is it me, or does the dash instrument panel lights only turn on automatically when it's dark? It happens no matter whether my lights are on auto or my lights are turned on manually. My headlights turn on when I turn it on manual, but the dash lighting doesn't until the car detects it's dark enough to have the dash on.

Is there anyway to have the dash turn on always? I'm finding that when it's dusk there isn't enough light and I need the dash on but the car detects just enough light so it doesn't turn the dash on.

Thanks, Koj

I think this is an option you can turn on in the ICC.

Already had a look in the ICC.... unless I'm blind and someone can point me to the right setting.

The only setting in the ICC is how long a delay for the automatic lights to turn on/off in auto mode.

You are right. I noticed that yesterday and thought I was going crazy. Interesting idea. I was outside with lights on and dash seemed dark, then went into an underground carpark and the dash magically lit up! I am sure it is an ICC setting (can't remember how I did it though).

The setting isn't in the ICC guys. It's in the LCD display menu on the dash.

Go to the light setting menu and play around in there.

I can't remember exactly where it is but it's in that menu somewhere.

Read the owners manual for better instructions.

The dash lights are also controlled by the sensor up on the centre of the dash console.

That determines the function of the climate control and the incoming light into the car.

I have one small gripe with the wizzbang tricky FG. I like to drive with my lights on so I can read the dash board when going in tunnels and during lower light.

The problem is that the headlights go on, but the dashlights only seem to go on under low light. I have stuffed around with the light settings, but even with the lighting setting set to Max (or Min) I cannot make the dashlights stay on during the daylight.

I CBF reading the manual, so I am hoping someone can tell me how the hell to make the dashlights come on with the headlights and not when they feel like it

Cover the light sensor and turn the headlights on and off manually. :crybaby:

That's what I've done. But the only drama is the display between the speedo and tacho dims when you turn the lights on. This makes it hard to read if you turn your lights on during the day.

lol I asked for that Adam, nice merging

I would have thought it would not have been an issue that when you turn the lights o, the dash lights would also come on.

I also wonder why Ford did not use the adjustment settings for the auto headlights to set the dashlights.
