Hi Guys,

Was having a chat to the local tuner and he informed me of something I haven't heard of before.

The filter on the block via the oil sender switch on the passenger side of the block of the XR6T are supposed to have a crap filter and get clogged easily? Got to to replace with the Territory turbo filter.

Anyone else heard of this, got told good to do when up around 300kw.

Welcome to 2009...

Best to remove the filter all together or go aftermarket plumbing. It supplies oil to the turbo so if it does get blocked the turbo has an earth shattering kaaaboooom....

Well im going to get the ETM replacement line, so that solves my answer then. How he explained it, it sounded like another filter that you had to replace.

The standard filter in in a bastard of a place to get to and ford service rarely clean it so its best to get rid off it.

ETMs replacement line turns it into a 5min job.

If you are going to keep the standard lines the territory turbo filter has much bigger flow.

I have had a look at the difference, but is this filter really needed after all the car has a oil filter anyway?

I removed mine after I purchased the ETM one and the car has done nearly 70K and I missed a service or 2 a few years ago and did 20K before another service was carried out!

The filter was clogged with what looked like carbon/charcoal but only on the screen and it wasn't like the whole thing was a block of carbon so I would say remove it and leave it out as there wasn't shaving or any other crap in there.

Cant see it destroying the turbo if its not in there and as long as your not pooring dirt into your motor it will be fine!
