I think we lose sight of the fact that the mechanic is on the same wavelength there. He also has overheads, lol all I gotta do is take me lunch.He`s gotta pay for power, rent, replace tools and equipment, upgrade stuff, be constantly updaing his knowledge base and pay people as well..I wanted to be a mechanic as a kid, I`m not sorry that didn`t eventuate.. Its at times, a hard physically demanding job that can screw your health up.You gotta deal with whiners who are never happy, think they know more than you and f**k you over for the bill..If you`ve got the time and abilty to do some or all the work to your car then terrific go save yourself some dough. morningbeers Member 20 Member For: 15y 10m 9d Posted 11/05/09 08:46 AM Author Share Posted 11/05/09 08:46 AM thanks gents.to clarify though, I have no problem paying for a quality result... as long as my hard earned is actually going to someone doing what they say. with the way of the world right now people are trying to cut costs and jamming in a pre-done tune and getting onto the next one makes a lot of sense for tech shops. to respond to a few, people have a tendency to overstate their own results after coffing up for a tune. once the deal is done we dont want feel like losers for being being ripped off. if I had the time to stay with my car and see the whole thing then yeah, that would somewhat appease me... maybe I need to chuck a sicky!cheers beers Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
