Hi all something happened twice today which has got me concerned a little. The car is a BF Xr6 turbo sedan

Driving to work stopped at the lights and took off, nothing hardcore but I speed up to get into the left lane, when doing so just as the boost came on and then I felt and heard a a rumble sound (like going over corrigated road) and lost power, now first I put this off to maybe the traction control messing about with things so the next opportunity I applied the same throttle and low and behold nothing it was fine and so didnt think much of it.

Driving home from work I did a u turn at the lights and went up a light incline and again as the car picked up speed and changing into third (I think) it did it again, I felt it more now, I had to lift off the pedal, again loss of power.

I then had a bit of a drive on some empty roads and gave the car I little bit to try and replicate what happened but I couldn't everything was fine, it took off alright and the gear changes seemed normal tested all three modes as well D S and manual.

What could this problem be? Could it be a slipping clutch or band? Something to do with the torque converter or something else?

The check engine light didnt light up or anything. Would the trans benefit from a oil service?

The car has done 85,000k's and for all I know it hasn't had the trans serviced.

Please help, ive only had the car for 5 months :(

Sounds like the DSC (dynamic stability control) kicking in.

Did you notice the orange car skidding icon flashing on the dash ?

My TTG does it all the time, where the GT-E is not so intrusive.

How much is a service? I hear Ford charges the world for it.

I thought it was the DSC as well but the second run after work im sure I had it off :stupid:

I doubt it is the trannie, it is more likely the TC/DSC.

A few more tests should sort it out.

I really hope so because the trans does change gear nicely when pushed as I had no further problems when I was pushing it harder.

Should probably get the oil changed though. Any places in Melbourne I can go to? Eastern Suburbs?

I think my box is on the way out its still under ncw but only for about a month

every now and then it makes a little bang sound and every few days if you put your foot down for full thotle it wont down shift but once you lift your foot off it does and then over revs the engine

any ideas guys what could cause this ? its got 85000km on it maybe a oil change I would have done this early but ford charge to much and if I went after market my ncw was void

how would ford even check the gearbox anyway im almost temped to say to ford service ill pay for an oil in the hope of when they drain it they realize the box in rooted

any ideas on the cost of a rebuild if it sh*ts itself after my ncw is finnished somewhere in wollongong or sydney would be good

cheers trev
