what do you think of using meguiars scatch x? or what other products can I use?

I reckon you should look past the mainstream brands like meguiars etc.

try something like poorboys polish with sealant or equivalent.

check out www.waxit.com.au for products.

mine was pretty bad a couple of months ago beyond the point of just a quick polish. I set a couple of days aside & managed to get it back as good as new. It sounds excessive but it was pretty ordinary that & I was keen.

First I pressure cleaned the car (carefully) to get rid of any excess dirt. Wash thouroughly & dry. Use wax & grease remover to get rid of the tar & marks. rewash to get rid of any debris & marks. Clay block complete car. rewash & dry. let sit. use auto glym super resin which has a fine cutting compound in it. If done correctly removes quite a few scratches & swirls. rewash & dry. Let sit. final coat I use carnauba wax. Leaves a deep clean finish that I havent seen using other products. wash & dry again to get rid of dust let by polish. use anti static cloth to finish it off. Of coarse blacken guards & tyres. Good product ive found for this is auto glym bumper black. Can use it inside & out. Its not silicon based so it wont just flick off all over the car after the first drive.

Important to pressure clean first becuase cant wash a dirty car that's how you get fine scratches. Also do the inside of the guards. Always let the car completly dry if you try & put polish on & water runs on it it'll smudge.

By the way my wife & mum call me anal but I enjoy it. Its good to see the final result. A simple wash now brings it up a million bucks.

poorboys is good. They have a great range also. I use it on the misses Toybota. For my beast I flick between Zanio, wolfgang and Menzerna. But I recently found a new wax called DP maxwax. Very cheap for $40 and am loving it.

scratchx and super resin polish are just full of fillers, useless products.

not a fan of poorboys either.

only polish that touches my paint or cars that I polish is Menzerna.

but that's for machine use only.

I dont use the super resin as the final product only as a scratch/swirl remover. Not great as a final product but did a great job for what I intended it for.
