Thanks to Mat & the guys at HPF for doing the install so quickly. Hardly notice the humming of the pump also!

Also the tank will come with rubber to go around the pump. It's a shame you can't see the polished tank! :freak:

Where abouts do you mount this? Near the fuel rails like other sponsor versions or at the rear of the car??
Trying to decide which surge tank to get, this seems fairly cheap compared to the others available....
Who makes this tank?
Does it come with rubber hoses to keep the noise down too?

Cheers!

Surge tank is rear mount near the fuel rails. Made locally in VIC so spend your stimulus money here and support local business.
Surge tank is baffled too! Comes with hosing and speedflow fittings from tank to pump!

Senna as soon as I get ten then I'll get the money and place the order. If we do not hit ten by the end of may then I'll see what I can do with supplier. With the amount of interest in the ideas for group buy I would hope we should hit ten easy! The sooner I get confirmations and deposits the sooner people get there product. Turnaround for orders is around 1-2 weeks.

I'm interested but i won't put my name on the list just yet.

There have been some concerns about the quality of welding on this tank, (this doesn't bother me as my father in law is a stainless and aluminium welder) do you have any close up pictures of the welds?

Also, is there only one mounting point? How solid is it when mounted?

The main reason for the questions is that fuel supply is something to be taken very seriously, if it is not totally secure i would be concerned about having this thing coming loose in an accident!

I too am also concerned about the mounting point of the unit. It appears that it is supporteed by one horizontal point, that has no vertical bracing where it is welded to the pot. I can only assume that the pot would weigh in excess of 3Kg when full and I am concerned that this mount would be insufficient and would fatigue due to the weight and vibration and eventually break. I am interested in the group buy, but I would like this matter resolved before I will commit.

Hi Guys, I am the builder of these tanks, I own a custom fabrication business in Ballarat Victoria and I am a qualified welder and sheetmetal worker. I posted up deails of my busiess and photos on here last night for you all, but the moderating team deleted it all, and told me Im not allowed to advertise on here so its gone.

Any how, tanks are fully Stainless Tig welded and the welding is as good as it gets. I dont ever clean up any of my welds with a grinder or flap disc as this weakens the joint, gives a faulse impression on weld quality and reduces weld bead strength.

The mounting bracket is made from 3mm solid bar and has bracing on either side as shown. Its also double welded both sides to the ensure strength, even in an accident.
I have included some close up photos of the welding and bracket.

If I can be of any more help let me know.
Cheers, Nathan.B
