I think, to answer some previous posts, if I was a marketing guy at Expensive Daewoo I'd be saying this:

1. Comparing the VE with AFM to a FG T6 is not appropriate, because as I'm sure has been said in countless threads (including one recently), a V8 is a different beast to a T6 and appeals to different people differently.

2. This is the first incarnation of Holden's AFM - presumably more gains (in economy) can be had with time and research.

3. Re the guy that had the AU that could run to Sydney on a tank as well, and WASN'T stock... well, you're missing the point. AFM is a factory-backed fully-warranted technology off the production line. It isn't someone tinkering after the fact that fully voids the warranty.

4. Surely over time, the days of a 'performance' 8-cylinder daily driver being produced, in the same quantities as they are today anyway, are numbered. Expensive Daewoo had to do something to get their hands into the pockets of Rudd's Green Fund...

I dont think this was a debate of which one is better, becauase I dont think there really is an asnwer to that question. The boss makes more power in a stock car but I am yet to see a Boss respond to mods as well as these LS engines. 360rwkws froma Cam only??? I dont know if a boss could get even close to that. But it is 5.4l much smaller than that what the VE use.

I love the boss and would have bought an XR8 if the FG werent so bloody ugly or even another T but I must say I am mightly impressed with what these LS engines can do. We are very lucky to have the pick of 2 very tough V8's for not a great deal of money.
