I was told my my stereo guys that theres a device that would work but it was gonna cost me around $200, which IMO is too much cause I can easily just reach my headunit, but yeah would still ove the steering controlls.. Could be the same thing as in the ebay link I dunno..I remember reading on here, someone fitted there headunit but didnt hard wire it in, but used the AUX somehow when fitting it. When he wanted to listen to the HU he chucked it in AUX mode and it played, therefore still retaining the steering controls.. Do a search, could be your answer.. I think his username is Azid_rush or something like that...

Member 692 Member For: 17y 10m 27d Gender: Male Location: Newcastle Posted 27/04/09 04:03 AM Share Posted 27/04/09 04:03 AM (edited) yeh mika was right. I originally wired up the dvd using the ford booster kit which meant that u kept your steering wheel controls and everything, still had radio through stock unit aswell as the dvd player and sound was surprisingly excellent. Only downside to this is that depending on the dvd head unit, u may not have any places left to run subs if that's your thing. If your not running subs than it is an easy and convenient way to install a dvd player in the ICC. The link to my tutorial is http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=44426 have a look through there.Alternatively theres a few options u have to keep steering wheel controls, some are expensive as sh*t like the bay on ebay u shown, there is some cheaper optionspersonally I wouldnt spend 200 to keep steering wheel controls though Edited 27/04/09 04:08 AM by Azid Rush
