Turbo 6, Have you done any more exhaust work since the muffler job?

And is yours a Manual or auto?

I drive a venom ute in Brissie, I have only had it 3 weeks and was going to wait 12mths or so before boosting it. But now I am not so sure, where did you get it done?

I have only done the -muffler. I am allready getting bored, regretting choosing the auto. Sounds like a unichip might be the answer!

Any Canberra agents for Chip Torque? Sounds just like Unichip except $700 cheaper.

I believe that chip torque are also in sydney not sure about camberra.

they use there own piggy back computor system.

I too will probably do similar, I think I'll see either APS agent or Dinosteve and get them to do it. I'm going to use that 3year warranty. Then I'll mod the car. That way I would have had 3 years of peace and mind. Hopefuly, Steves current rig won't be around the price it is now.

That Exede piggy back is the way to go. At least you can make changes to it yourself at a latter date. That Unichip stuff is not as good from what I know (from a hardware and software point of view) and to make it worse you are not given the software to reprogram it.

People,

Piggyback ecu seems to be the most common approach.

A link to follow is www.xede.com.au.

Chiptorque used to modify the chip (I have a rex with a chiptorque chip mod) but now use the piggyback ecu approach.

I do like the idea of using a wiring loom rather than the old Unichip approach of wire cutting and soldering (maybe a question for APS if they still do this).

Any Unichip tuning is done by the tuner, possibly for warranty and reputation reasons, rather than let individuals fiddle with adjustments.

As for tuning capability, more information will be made available re the adjustability capability of fuel, timing etc, with the latest version of these units, but at the end of the day the result is very much dependent on the person doing the dyno tuning & setup.

Also, AVO use the piggyback approach, using Perfect Power (ref http://www.perfectpower.com/)

Also, Nizpro (according to an Autospeed article ... ref http://www.autospeed.com.au/cms/A_1833/article.html if you subscribe, and worth reading) use a Motec M800 as a piggyback to the ecu.

Dynosteve refers to their own rpd computer, implying a replacement rather than piggy-back, so that sets them apart from the rest if that's the case.
