Boys, I must say I'm more than just a bit jealous! :iloveit: I've only just turned 20 so its a tad hard saving to get me own T, but I hope to order mine on my 21st bday (Feb) so lets hope I can get the dosh, Mods....well exhaust is a no-brainer, and some stereo stuff (for the long trips) but it'll definately have some serious mods in some point of its life....

Turbo6, the thread-bare tyres are probably enough to scare away any would be competition

One word of warning for all MANUAL gearbox owners, beware of the power increase, and I mean it. My gearbox is already starting to make some funny noises and it has only been one week. You can even hear the synchro's working between gear changes when it is quiet, and there is a whir readily audible from 1st to 2nd............... Hmmmmmmmm. :beerchug:

Tremec time, 6 new bigger injectors, and more boost!

turbo6, have you been "hard" on your gearbox would you say?

I know it would be hard not to be after the mod that you have done!

I have a lot of time for you and ian, not worrying about warranty all that much, and just having a good time in your turbo's. I think that's what its all about, fun and enjoyment.

Octane, Ive only just turned 23 and have a Blueprint with leather T in my driveway. Just because your young doesnt mean you cant do it. Happy saving and I know for sure missing out on that odd party will mean nothing once you hit the loud pedal on the falcon...

On that point, I wonder what the average age of the T owner is? Based on this forum, im thinking mid/late-thirties. I think Ford should market more to the younger crowd, judging the modified car scene they seem to have the dollars to spare...

I'm in the same boat, I'm 23 and I saved my butt off for this car! The wait and the things I missed out on are definately worth it. Your right just because your young doesn't mean you can't do it. If insurance is what your worried about then you'll never buy the car you really want, I found ford insure the best: rating 1 - $996.97, that's cheaper than RACV with my previous EF.

Freaky alxr6t, I just upgraded from an EF as well !! (an XR8II and found my insurance went from $3000 to $1900, thankx Ford Insure). Whilst I miss that V8 note, you cant help but smile when that turbo kicks in...

I wouldn't say I have been hard on it. I don't bang through 1st to 2nd gearchanges at all - I wait until 2nd is home before I get back on the gas fully. Mind you, when you accelerate in first with full throttle, the ute starts to spin up - no clutch, and yes, these are 18's doing the damage.

It is very impressive and yes, hard to resist that shove in the back feeling.

If I can purchase an XR8 'box at a reasonable price, then expect the mods to continue. One thing to remember, I drive this car everyday and put around 600kms a week on it so it doesn't just sit in the garage. I will give you guys the real world mods guide. :D
