With all respect, I'm sure most of them all do the same thing.

I'd rather put a $100 towards a plenum rather than see which is best.

Saying that though, a plenum is last on the list of mods that I would do anyway.. It's funny when you see people who have a plenum but no exhaust or wastegate mod, etc..

I disagree and am prepared to contibute $50.

All laboratory tests are, by design, different to real world applications. We do this in order to reduce the number of variables. so we don't simulate the valves and how their pressure shockwaves propagate around the plenum. I assume we can measure the flow in and out to each individual runner simultaneously? The things that I would like to see varied is flow rate (say 20lb/min and then a 60lb/min) and maybe heat the air in so we can have a dense air vs hot air comparison. For me I would mostly be interested in the plenum that provided the most even distribution to each cylinder, under all these conditions rather than which one acheives the peak flow in any one cylinder in any one test.

Still don't think it'll happen... :secret:

Cheers.

You clearly do not realise how a flow bench test is performed. Dont waste your money on a test that will at the end of the day prove nothing but how easy it is to part some people and their money.

There is a perfect way of real world testing but from all the experts about nobody has even considered it.

Call me stupid. I'm not sure what you are saying Leigh. What is the best form of testing and has anyone done it? Has anyone got that information if they have done the perfect way? I for one do not know a huge amount about plenums but would love to learn more and know which is the best out there.

Cheers

Darren

Well why don't you tell us then.

Because as far as I know nobody on this forum has the required hardware fitted to their engine in order to perform the test accurately and it will just start another sh*tfight like last time.If you want to know do some research on how they tune a top fuel engine.

I really dont care what the results will be, I am just pointing out to those who are considering giving money to someone under the pretense that all will be proven once the flowbench has been performed and that is simply not the case.

If you want to throw money at this be my guest but the results wont be worth the paper they are written on.

That is definately worth doing when looking at plenum design because it will give you a rough idea of how it will work in real life. Post #11 sums it up perfectly.
