I was wondering since the FG has limited options for gauge installs for performance readings like boost, oil pressure, trans oil temp etc, whether anyone had considred a unit to recieve all this information and then send it to the existing ICC. You could then flick over to an aux input and display the same as 2 or 3 52mm gauges in digital format for when you want to know exactly what is going on. For cruising flick back to the standard readout for normal ICC display. This would eliminate the need for gaudy A pillar gauges etc and be totally stealth until really needed.

Sorry if this has been already talked about but my searches came up nada.

Any thoughts???

yeah mate can be done

you need an asl interface

then you need a device like a mini pc or something to read the odb ii or something to ouput to screen in NTSC format

thanks for the feedback djkice,

I'm going to look into this further as the stealth approach is what I'm after.

I think there may be a market for this kind of approach to data readouts in the FG? :beerchug:

Bloody good idea that is, and with odb II you don't need any additional sensors as the computer already has all the information and you would be able to display any data you desire.

I definitely see a market for this and not just for FG but depends on the cost, video converter and a computer to read odb data and display it might not end up being cheap.

Bump. Anything ever come of this?

Closest I have to this is a dashhawk. Which reads all inputs and displays it on its screen, smaler than a gps and able to mount on steering coloum. Unfortunately very hard to get now. Try DASHDAQ :google:

Hope that helps.

Above is right.

It uses Iphone App (I think) - But you need to convert your ICC screen to be able to play DVD's and shiz, and then buy the kiwi wifi to send to the screen. I have heard off a few people that it is good for recording results, but nothing like the experience of live gauges. The cost is rather excessive for both the iphone app and unit, and screen upgrade.

Plus with these new SS gauge pods, its the cheaper and better option anyway.

My 2c.
