(wont work through paint).Also check your amp fuse and the fuse from you battery power run.Assuming you have it installed correctly... Again - where did/are you pick(ing) up the remote signal from? I would recommend that you use a 12v test light (if you dont have one - about 5$ from Jaycar). Test and make sure that the power and earth are conductive.
