First post on forum.

Looking to update my 200 Inline 6 in Los Angeles to the F6 310 with automatic. Have been reading several posts about the power upgrade potential of this engine, quite impressive.

Lived in Australia as DOD dependent at RAAF Williamtown and went to school at Stockton Elementary and Raymond Terrace High School. Good memories and especially remember the great fish and chips wrapped in newspaper.

Hey mate,

Welcome to the forums :headbang2:

The FG F6 are really something else! You're planning to transplant the engine into your Fairlane? Sounds like it could be really cool :)

Are you planning on using the 6 speed ZF box? They are awesome! And are you planning on modding the engine here in Aus, or will you upgrade when you get it in LA?

Keep us updated mate,

Cheers,

Dan

Will be F6 310 with automatic. The fairlane currently has 200 6 inline with 2 speed automatic and trying to keep the same configuration.

Purchased 250 inline six with C4 automatic to upgrade the existing factory engine/trans package. This started the search for 250 parts and upgrades, that led to finding that Ford of Australia had continued development of this engine. Found that iron and aluminum cross-flow cylinder heads where available.

Would like to have more power from engine and have been reading several of the posts about upgrades. Seems like you can do reflash, engine internals, turbo, etc to gain more power. Thinking should use vendors who have already have experience with these upgrades from Australia, do not want to reinvent the wheel again.

Lots of questions still need to be answered.

See mention of 3 salvage yards for FPV parts, one being Ferntree Gully Auto Salvage. Who are the other two?

Can this engine run on E85 as our fuel is limited to 91 octane?

Sam not sure if he's in your area (Ohio's a long way from LA.... :blush: )but chase down Steve at RDP Motorsport he's over there in Ohio he would be able to help you out no end, originally a Queenslander and just opened up over there last year he had a lot to do with the XR6T's when he was here.

This will be very interesting, look foward to seeing what you can do with this, Iv never really seen it retro-fitted to a much older car.

Would make a great sleeper too.

With the ability to falsh tune the ecu, it will make life much easier, espicially being overseas.

The two main late model Fords guys iv had experience with and would reccomend are;

FTG Auto Salvage in FernTree Gully, Victoria (03) 9758 6900

Macathur Parts Plus, Smeaton Grange, Sydney (02) 4646 1288

You could also try;

FordPro, Smithfiled, Sydney (02) 9757 1811

Im sure there are many more, a search of the forums will give you a vast wealth of knowledge.
