Im hoping to go to WSID wednesday night with a mate who has a turbo cressida but his battery has been relocated to the boot. Its enclosed in a box and mounted securely but I dont think he has an isolation switch like ive seen on some cars. Does anyone know if this likely to be an issue at scrutineering?

He isnt likely to run faster than a mid to high 12 and most cars that ive seen with the externally accessible isolation switches hanging from the boot seem to be dedicated drag cars rather than quick street cars. I did read a thread on an LS/Late model camira forum saying you need an isolation switch below 12.0 seconds but it was a few years old and wasnt clear if it applied to a wednesday night event or running in an ANDRA sanctioned event.

My mates got a vl with the battery in the boot and he was told he needs the isolation switch because he had a surge tank in there aswell. They still let him race though.

I think you should be fine as long as you don't have a fuel system in there.

As long as his car is tidy they probably wont even notice the battery not being in the engine bay. They open the bonet see that the car looks well kept and close it again.....My last outing the did not even look under my bonnet.

When I went last week, the dude just lifted my bonnet, looked at the engine for like 3 seconds and closed it. No hassles at all.
