Sorry for the long absence!

Anyway, I use BPT Motorsport for any and all work to the ute. Although I am now considering a retune. Just unbelieveable the amount of fuel being used even just puttering around the city off boost.

I can't remember where I got the filter from, pretty sure it was Repco, was some time ago now.

I've just completed installing my guages into an SS Inductions pod holder on top of the ICC, just a word of warning, DO NOT buy this product, flimsy POS. First bit of heat into the cab and it warped. Might chase up the factory guages and pod.

So terribly frustrating.... Went for a cruise north of Perth to visit family in Gin Gin, on the freeway and country back roads I can get 9ltr/100km but as soon as I slow down or go back to stop start type of driving the economy skyrockets upwards of 20ltr/100km!!!!

Purely a result of the tune I am thinking????

It pains me to watch the fuel guage plummet before my very eyes!!

Anyone else have this sort of a problem with higher RWKW?? I don't drive like a maniac, I have been intentionally driving like a grandad to see what I can get. As I said before, on the freeway in 6th gear at 2,500 RPM or there abouts with no boost the fuel economy is awesome. But stop start you can see the instant reading hit 70-80ltr without even getting on boost :secret:

I think I will be having a chat to my tuner... or moving on.

One other thing, I dont have the 2nd 02 sensor plugged in due to the exhaust coming from a BA and so there wasnt a boss for it to go into, but again my tuner assured me he could write that off in the programming. Engine light is on constantly due to this. Maybe its just running uber rich...mmm... I maybe on to something..thanks for your assistance fellas.

On a lighter note, I have ordered a couple of Carbon Fibre Kits from a company in the uk, to make my own interior bits and pieces like A Pillar trims etc etc. Am away for work at the moment and the GF has just told me that they have arrived. So I'm itching like mad to get home and start sniffing resin fumes!!!!

Also be making a new CF case for the Xbox360. I may do this first to get some practise before I attack my car... lol. See how we go.

JC I know the roads you mention only too well . Lived in Mandurah up untill about 9 years ago and have family in Muchae .

Anyway My BF 6 speed manual is also heavy on juice and has 324.7 at the back wheels .

Drove from Adelaide to Melbourne for the FPV open day in March with an XR8 (FG) . XR6 (N/A) , F6 (BF) (mid 300 rwkw) and a Devil R . No matter what we were doing mine was always well above all the rest other than the N/A XR6 as he had the club trailer on . I can get high 9 to 10 on the open road and 14 to 15 in the city . Yours at 20 sounds a bit high but that can depend on how heavy your foot is . A good tuner can lean the car out for you but dont go too far as you can harm the motor .

This is the price you pay to feed the need for more power (its great fun) .

I have the Pole possition tripod and have no issues with it .

With your engine management light on I would guess that the 2nd O2 sensor has not been switched off . You are correct a good engine tuner will switch this off , should be done once you start playing with bigger boost as I understand it . Otherwise the light just keeps on comming on .

Get a mechanic with a camera to look at your cat , with the higher power the factory ones melt on the rear side generally . You may find this is the issue with your ecconomy .

When mine was being retuned the last time we got 327 at the rear then couldnt get over 190 . On opening the cat up we had melted it to a solid mass . Exhaust now fixed and boost fine tuned to give a great strong even curve that makes tyres wear extreemly fast (not ripping skids I might add)
