Hi folks,

Long Time reading this site and first time posting.

Putting aside FPVs Turbo 6 Cylinder, I Just thought I would air my utter dismay over reading press articles pitting HSVs 6.3s and 7.0s against the baby Boss 5.4s?

Even though the 315 beats it on peak power the flaws of lower capacity are all but exposed during these comparisons.

When will Ford (PV) bite back with a higher capacity (Quad Cammed) Boss?

Are prodrive in the uk still doing the mods etc???

Prodrive in the UK never did any mods to our motors, they have always been built here, and will continue to be built here.

If they were smart they'd bring out a nice mildly supercharged quadcam V8 that will take kindly to some slight modification. This would be a nice addition to the current turbo 6 and surely increase sales on the V8 range.

I wouldn't give too much credibility to the articles though. Their results are often contrary to what people are getting in the real world. In NZ they actually rate the GT as being quicker than the HSVs.

You can't argue that Ford/FPV haven't done enough to combat the HSVs, but I wouldn't mind betting that if Ford came out with a blown 10 litre V8 with 445 rubber on the back, the magazines would still say it's slower than a HSV! Look at what they do with the F6!

FPV could learn from these guys , Some one around here must have the cash to send an XR8 over to the US and let them play with it

They are very smart then.

Next year will bring the new 5 litre all alloy V8's. Base engine should be 300 kw for XR8, with a bit of whine for the FPV's.
