Anyway, here is the problem... When I am slowing down at low speed (25km>), the front brakes seem to kind of grab and then let go, this happen up to 3-5 per second, kind of sounds like morse code. It does no sound like scraping or anything like that, more of an electric sound, I guess you could compare it to the abs testing itself. Almost always happens when turning left at low speed, pulling into driveways and such. I guess I am just a little at my whits end with it, as I am having to pay $900 for a diff rebuild next week, plus service, plus another weird enpine/acceleration problem that I will not speak of here... Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and it's a BA XRT 2003 - Auto. Thanks againPs- Very rarely, if it has a serious fit, the abs and traction control light will come on and not turn off, I have to restart the car to fix it. (Perhaps a faulty abs fuse?) MaTTe Member 143 Member For: 16y 15d Location: Perth Posted 19/04/09 09:08 AM Share Posted 19/04/09 09:08 AM its most liekly just excessive build up of metal filings on the sensor, but it may well have a sensor that needs replacing. You can clean the sensor off yourself if you're willing to get a bit dirty, or easily enough have it checked out by a brake specialist
ebxmple Member 1,322 Member For: 16y 9m 17d Posted 19/04/09 09:29 AM Share Posted 19/04/09 09:29 AM Ford will tell you exactly which wheel speed sensor is faulty within 20mins. If it is a WSS fault and the light stays on like you say it would have logged a memory code for which sensor it is. As said,if you have had a disc machine or something recently the metal can cover the end of the sensor which will also log a code as a faulty sensor. Good luck mate. Posted 20/04/09 03:18 AM Share Posted 20/04/09 03:18 AM I had the exact same problem mate. When slowing down and coming to a stop the abs would come on.Found out one of my abs sensors wasn't fitted correctly after having the diff bush done, it would be fine at speed but when coming to a stop the ecu would think a wheel is locked and apply abs.I took all the sensors off, gave em a decent clean and re-installed them. it wasn't till I got to the last one that I found the bolt was loose and I could move it around - just my luck. Now its good as new. Thanks again =quote)Mate, I know the exact noise that you are talking about. It happens with my car every single morning as I am turning left out of my drive way and it has happened from new. Mine is 07 BF ZF.I figured it was the abs coming on line? and doing self check or something, to me it sounds like a solenoid flicking rapidly on and off about 7-8 times in about 1.5 seconds; but it is sure coming from around the left/front wheel, maybe the ecu?
