roman, even better then a hair tie - turn the music up to the point (just before clipping), and watch the bastard fall off!

If not, just knock you head against it when your switching seats one day and watch it fall off!

Or if you want to do it right - try to swing by a windscreen place and ask them to re-fit it for you, if its still loose you could try some double sided foam tape in the ball joint (if the movement is coming from the joint rather then the loose adhesive on the glass), this will still let the mirror adjust.

Still no luck, get a new one, and have either Ford, or a windscreen place attach it for you!

mmm the glass in mine is what the rattling is hence why I put a hair tie round it. if I squeeze the top and bottom of where the glass sits in its nice and quiet but I cant think of anyway to stop that rattling

in my old car I masked and siliconed the mirror in the holder and this took the vibration and rattling outta the glass - high volume though wasnt much that would stop it shaking

yeah my windscreen had just been replaced when I bought the car bout 6 months ago and its really only been recently that its made noise. . so if it falls off will I have to get it proffesionally re fitted or can I just take it off and re fit myself? id say its the actual mirror cos it sounds like something jumping around but hmmm

Mine rattles sooo bad as well. Feebs can I borrow a hair tie? hehe jokes.

How do I take it off the windscreen? Is there an allen key somewhere which I can loosen then slide it off the window at all?

If I can take it off, I will put it upside down and fill the guts of it with silicone or something, to make it all solid inside. I never use that mirror dipping feature of it anyway.

I just got some thin cardbord like of a smok packet and folded it, then jamed it between the glass and rear view mirror.

no more rattles and that was a year and a half ago.

cheers

Bud, best to get the boys at Ford or Obrien, etc to fix it up for u...

Easiest way to check is crank up the tunes, and push the base (where it is stuck to the windscreen) on to the glass. You will see if this stops it or not - if so then get them to refit it.

I had mine replaced under warranty about 6 weeks after I got the car - had a chip in the screen and same day they came to 'look at it' that night it cracked. (was booked in to be fixed the next day, no matter insurance covered it)... Problem was the mirror would fit back on tight, so Ford replaced it under warranty!

While I only have a stock system - there is no movement what so every!

They will use a special adhesive which will bond to the glass. So take it back to where the screen was replaced and tell them, they should do it for nuffin for you!

Otherwise use the foam tape (same stuff used for side skirts, and badges - super cheap 9$ I think it is for a roll). Or the silicone as the others has said!
