Ive done a search but cant really find anything that helps

I am considering taking my ICC fascia out along with other interior parts for painting.

What I want to know is if it is possible to remove the ICC fascia/surround without taking out the premo sound screen or is it all one unit?

thanks

Not sure if its a mercury switch, but if you remove the ICC, definitely dont tip it over.. it freezes the unit..

Its pretty easy to remove though, just remember to remove the 4 plugs at the bottom in the correct order.. cant for the life of me remember which way it is though.

I was told there was a mercury type of switch in the ICC, is that true?

Nope, that's twaddle - nothing will happen, unless you have cd's in at the time, which may dislodge and get stuck though. I tilted mine multiple times, and opened it up many more, and no hassles....and no mercury switch ;)

Enjoy, and be careful, that's all there's to it....and avoid static discharge into the unit....

yeh I agree ive had mine out multiple times, disconnected and reconnected the 4 plugs in all different orders, tilted it and nothing has happen to the unit, its all apart of one person hears something on the forum and says it to someone else and so on and so forth next minute u have a hundred people all sharing the wrong information

just dont drop it and make sure theres no cd's in the unit and u will be fine

what if there are CD's stuck in there?

I am gonna rip mine out because it appears to be frozen, when you push the CD button it just make a little noise, then nothing happens after that, even though there are 6 cd's in there, after a minute or so it just goes back to the radio and that works fine. Eject and Load don't do anything either, load just says "wait" for ages then goes to radio, and eject does nothing.

I think one of the cd's is jammed or something... I want to pull it apart to have a look, what is wrong with pulling it out with CD's in there?

Just a FYI on stuck CD's.

My brother came over with his '04 Territory with a stuck CD.

I did a bit of searching and could find nothing on how to remove a stuck CD, so I ripped the ICC out and stripped the whole lot down tot he CD player.

It looks like a major job to get the CD out of the actual unit. Has anyone managed to get a jammed CD out ?

I might just call ASL and see if they do an exchange unit.
