Hey guys when I got my xr6t the idle was at the line before the 1000rpm mark so that's 750rpm im assuming?

lately when I turn the car on the revs are at 1000rpm or JUST a tad over.. it stays at that rev range for about max 5 mins if im cruising and come to a stop.. after 5 mins of driving or if I give it a punch it returns to normal rpm which has been 750rpm.. is this normal?

mine sits about 1000 for a min when the car is cold then goes down to 750 and stays there even when normal operating temp.

did you change your thermo stat to a colder one? the comp can think the car is still "cold"

also check for air leaks they dont help things at all

try the little things like TB cleaner, fuel filter, and piping..

hope this helps

Typhoon: Yea my car does exactly that and goes down to 750rpm sometimes JUST under the line

XR: I havn't changed anything in the car,, its only been doing it the past month or so

Senna: Yea I should give that a go and see if that's the problem.. will just normal WD40 be alright just to clean it?

Thanks guys (Y)

this is completely normal?

the car's idle when cold will be around 1100rpm, and when at operating temperature, around 750rpm.

this is completely normal, and helps the car to warm up.

freeze, get some actual throttle body cleaner. not sure if WD40 will have any adverse affect, but stick to the real stuff just in case

From cold start mine will sit at 1000rpm.

After a few min driving it will sit at 600rpm.

Stock it sat at 1100/750 in the above conditions.

I also think you should check and clean your throttle body with proper throttle body cleaner.

my car doesnt idle at 750 lol...

wen its cold it hits 1100 or so but wen its warmed up it stays at about 850 mark.. its a bit movie on the spot .. but that can be caused bc I havnt had it tuned for exhaust and cooler yet ..
