Very nice build. Which turbo did you end going for?

Thanks very much ive gone with a precision 6466 it's unknown over here but there's a few evo,s supra, and even a s2000 in the states using it with over 800 and 900rwhp so I'm hoping it will go well with our big 4l engines!

Boost will come on just as quick as factory and it's capable of pushing 40psi so it should go well wih the glide and e85!

What size rear housing did you go with? With E85 and a 4LT engine I like to go a little larger than I would with a PULP setup. With mine I was going to run it on 100 octane so was going to use a 1.15rear but seeing as its on E85 I used a 1.28rear. Just curiouse as Im a considering trying a 7675 if I dont like the GTX42r.

Actually it's funny how turbo's efficiency works. You will find that on a 4 cylinder with the same turbo as the 6 that the 4 cyclinder will produce a higher power figure. It will need alot more boost to get it but the overall figure will be higher on the 4 with both pushing the turbo to its limits.

MYWPN....it probably has to do with the pressure ratio. These turbo's are not very efficient at low pressure ratio's......compared to high pressure ratio's commonly used in small displacement engines.

Dalts in regards to your comment about boost coming on as quick as factory.....I find that hard to believe. I mean no disrespect and I hope you can appreciate my reasoning from a technical point of view. The 6262 for example is said to be comparable to the stock BA/BF turbs as it has a 62mm compressor inducer (82mm exducer) and a 72mm exhaust turbine inducer (62mm exducer). The Garrett GT3582r has a 61.4mm compressor inducer (82mm exducer) with a 68mm exhaust turbine inducer. Given the Garrett exhaust turbine specs you would think that the Garrett would spool slightly quicker.......however turbine design might prove otherwise. With the bigger exhaust inducer you would probably need to machine the ford turbine housing to make it fit in the stock location if retaining the stock manifold.

Now the 6466 has bigger turbine all round....hence why I'm surprised it spools faster. Im curious if you were able to squeeze an exhasut inducer of that size into a highly machined ford exhaust housing, or have you fitted an aftermarket manifold which would help bring back some spool of a biggers turbs? The 6466 would ultimately have MUCH higher air delivery at at higher rpm and would certainly be fun with a stall and powerglide....but I'd be very surprised if you could deliver 40psi worth close to the redline in a ford I6.

Anyway, not having a dig just trying to look at it would a tech point :-) Keep us informed as the 6466 is relatively new over here like you said. Cheers.

No problems it will be interesting to see,the 6466 is a new design with both wheels having new designs, apparently that will help with boost it will be hard to compare to factory as the glide makes a difference!

I'm using a 6boost manifold and precision 66 gate

Hi stee3

I've gone the biggest available 1.32 as I'm not concerned with lag,I just want the most power it can possibly make and like you said running e85 will make full use of it!

I've heard nothing but good things about the 7675 so I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed if you went with it when your done with the 42.

Hi dalts did you get that turbo over here? are you running a custom exhaust manifold aswell?

Hi pro346

Yes ive got a 6boost manifold and a precision 66 gate.

I got the turbo package through dragonslair motorsports

Yeah apples to apples the 6466 would have additional lag over the stock setup....will be interesting to see how it goes with the large A/R rear...won't be choked on that side!

I agree would have lag problems if modifying to suit the factory set up!

The rear housing looks massive compared to the factory t3,it should have some decent top end at the strip!
