haha sounds familar at least you dont have far to go. I'm not worried about it though I took it for a squirt last night & it didnt miss a beat so im sure it'll be all good. As they say break it & fix it. BIGGER & BETTER!!!

Also found out the other day you & I have mutual friends. Is a small world.

Back again after the trip to tville in one piece. Didnt manage to better my times but I dropped nearly .2 off my best 60ftr which I did twice. It seriously moves off the line when it hooks up. Still spins more than I would like but its not too bad. Did under & over do the burnout a couple of times which caused slower times but it happens.

I lost nearly 3 - 5mph off my previous trips as well. My mates noticed & mentioned that it didnt quite sound how it normally does almost restricted (induction/turbo). I havent cleaned the pod filter since ive had it which is over 12mths/15000klm (d1(khead). Last time I checked it it was pretty ordinary so that could explain alot. It wasnt slow by any means with nothin slower than 11.7 which I only did once with the rest 11. 4, .5 & .6. Abit disappointed but it was my own fault it happened. Bonus is it got back in one piece, had no major dramas & I improved my 60ftr considerably so im half way there all I need to do is put all the pieces of the puzzle together. Still only learning but im getting there.

I did manage to put the box into limp mode on my second run at the burnout pad but it come good after letting it cool down & reflashing it.

Gonna have everything flushed & changed with a new filter & I'll be back down there in 3wks to do it all over again. Becoming addictive. lol.

After talkin to the bloke that tunes the car who's a hell of alot brighter than I am when it comes to this stuff came up with alot better possible explanation for the low mph & lower again compared to only a couple of wks ago which was also pretty cool so there could be quite a few more mph in it on the right night.

Because the cars stretched pretty far & not a bad idea in any tune mind you theres something in there when it detects pinging it just pulls timing (a fair bit) to obviously protect the engine. Can happen when its too hot or too cold. There was probably about 18 - 20 deg difference between last night/last trip a couple of wks ago & the day it was tuned so it could explain alot.

It's just an idea but seems like it could be the case. This would probabaly be why it didnt sound like it normally did because it was held back for a lack of a better word. If so theres not much we can do but try & pick the right conditions to try & run in. The joys of running things on the limit but my engines still in one piece & its still no slouch regardless.

Was still worth the trip with this in mind & the fact my 60's are getting better. I think ive hit my limit at the track with improving the 60's. With a serious smoke run (almost cant see out my windscreen) full hand brake & foot brake the most I can leave the line is 4 -5 psi otherwise it breaks traction on the line. But we work with what we've got & will be all the better when I get the chance to run on a track that's actually prepped even looked after. That & I'll more than likely break something. lol.

Not trying to make excuses for me or the car but there is/has to be an explanation.

yeah if your car was tuned in the heat(which it probably was considering where you live)and tuned to the edge it will most likely ping when it gets cooler and your knock sensors depending what they are set at will pull timing out,as a few have mentioned over 400rwkw should post around 130mph!!might pay to throw a bit of race fuel in as insurance, anyway your going well wouldnt worry to much it will come together.

cheers lee

Not a bad idea that Lee. I can throw some race fuel in there without tuning it but use more so as a octane booster??? Would chuck it on the dyno just to check it out anyway.

I'm not to disheartened yet its only the 2nd time ive gone down with this setup & I know theres always complictaions when you push cars to the limit. Not really expecting to get 10's in townsville (if youve been there you'll understand why) but now that ive got the basics right if I went somewhere else id have a descent chance of getting close.
