Well ive got jack of trying to crack 10's on pump fuel so ive ordered me a couple of drums of martini 110. I think theres a good reason why so many before have failed so its time for me to jump ship & do what needs to be done. We're not gonna run straight race fuel but rather a 50/50 mix.

I think its a lot safer means of trying for it. We're not goin for more power as I dont think that's the answer but trying to get what we have on the dyno to transfer to the track without any hiccups.

Its getting retuned again mainly to compensate for the race fuel but also to tune it in the same conditions it'll be run in. Its still no guarentee but its worth a try. As usual I cant wait to get back out there & have a crack. Still think it would be an achievment getting a 10 on that track & at full weight.

some times its best to run a ten the easy way, and then you know what to do, then can always go back and try again, they can run a ten, on pump fuel, but it is a good drive, everything has to be right. sometimes the dyno's don't translate to the track, you will find it different though with 110, from the first run you will feel the difference.

good idea about trying to do it on 110 first & then when I get the hang of it have a go with 98. Your right about not translating from the dyno to the track. Even with pump fuel all the stars & moons have to align to crack it where as from what I can gather theres bit more forgivness when using race fuel.

how do ya mean it feels different with 110? Power delivery?

so you get all the timing that is in the tune.

that's the problem we have.

The bloke that tunes it said he allowed for up to 6deg to be pulled if needed so you can imagine how it affected top end which has obvioulsy showed by the mph its pulled over the last two trips. Most importantly its still in one piece.

dude, if u have an x2 or x3 log all the spark and knock pids and show your tuner. The more info u have at hand the better. Use a mates logger if u have an xcal1, they can be shared between vehicles.

I've only got 1 & that's a great idea. I dont know of anyone up here with one yet but I think it might be just about time to upgrade for that reason alone.

It is frustrating that its done it but its for the good of the engine which in the end is the important thing as I have about 2hrs to get home & it lives to fight another day. We've learnt something now & we can fix it & have a real good go at it.

Will be interesting to see how it reacts to race fuel both powerwise & at the track.

Try and borrow an X3 that someone has already got the data logging sussed as I've found that some vehicles have issues. Surely someone on this forum could help you out! Plus the xcal1 is fine and much cheaper if you borrow an X2/3 for a night of logging.
