If you want a decent boost in power try bigger injectors, high flowcat, remove center muffler, F6 intake with K&N filter and tune. See how you go. Maybe set you back 2.5k

Thanks Dillz,

Probably start with the intake for now....anyone know where to source these? Ford, wreckers? I read somwhere you have to cut a hole in the existing air filter box/panel to fit the 2nd F6 snorkel, any pics or guides of where exactly its meant to go?

Also, excuse me for my noobiness, but I won't need a tune just for a CAI will I?shocked.gif

every so often theyre on eBay for about 60 bucks from memory, a hole is required to be cut for it. No you wont need a tune for a cai but you may notice on cold nights a little overboost.

Wouldn't worry about the spark plugs until you get a custom tune as the tuner may ask you to use Iridium spark plugs with a 0.8mm gap. Other thing is on the topic of fuel, if you do go for a custom tune, they will tune for particular RON - so it is possible to get a 91 RON, 95 RON and/or 98 RON tune. If you custom tune for 98 RON and use 91 RON I am told your engine will ping (never tried to put 91 RON in yet). But if you have your XCAL3 or equivalent handy, you can always flash back to stock if you can't get the RON your custom tune is designed for.

Gaz I'm pretty sure they come out of the factory tuned to 95 but you should try and run them on 98 yeah? DO NOT stick 91 in them ya tight arses, lol.

Just changed my spark plugs today(NGK iridium), cleaned throttle body & boost valve & noticed the top hose of the boost valve had a cut in it....I guess that would mean less boost? I'm hoping that was the issue I had(mentioned it in another post where when cold ran well....I guess all cars do..lol....but when warm under load was spluttering/pinging).Had to silicone it for now......hope she screams come tomorrow 6am :D

Don't like the price of Premium 98, but releuctant to use anything less......using Shell atm, is BP or Caltex any better?

I believe that 280rwkw is fairly easy to achieve tune only in an FG.

Thanks for the response 72 ....pretty much what I have discovered but they also seem to want to upgrade the air intake (CAI ?). Just what I suspected...these babies wanna breathe (who doesn't?). Might just do a CAI and a tune and see how that feels although after 2 years I am still pretty happy with the standard rig .....
