I had my car edited about a month ago.......was running great till last weekend when it cut out on my wife.

She explained that it felt like it had gone into limp mode out of the blue and the ETC light came on......

She shut it off and restarted it and it was all good again.......

I took it back to my tuner and it wouldnt do it again......so he said that it sounded like some sort of "glitch" and when she restarted it,it had reset itself......all the same, he plugged in only to find that everything checked ok...

This afternoon it did exactly the same thing to me, however, I noticed that the speedo had stopped working just prior to it sounding like it was only running on two cylinders, again with the ETC light on........

I shut it off, restarted it and off she went all good again.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Im going away next Thursday and I don't want to be having dramas with it while I"m up north......:spoton:

sounds very similar to a TPS to me.

My car used to do that to me idling, accelerating.. etc.

as soon as you restart the car it will be fine.. problem was I'd have to restart it 5-6 times on some short drives, other times it'd be fine.

If you know anyone that can swap you a throttle body for a couple of days/weeks try it, if not, I'd almost definately say it's worth spending the money and swapping it yourself ($155 yourself, $380ish for Ford to do it)

If you're in perth I'll lend you mine.

I hope this helps.

I'd put the stock tune back in it about a week before it had its first spasm......thinking that whats made it stuff up........ I put the 8lb daily drive deal back in after and thought all was well.......then, this arvo.....car does the same thing...... :3gears:

So it had it's first drama while on the stock tune? Are all tunes causing problems...?

I think Mike and maTTe have nailed it mate. Mention it to your tuner and see what he can do. Otherwise you may have to take it to ford...

All the best,

Dan

So far, its done it with the stock tune and the 8lb tune......I haven't tried it with the 11lb tune yet but I'd say it wouldn't make any difference.......

Because its intermittent, it doesn't show up when I take my car to the tuner and since the guys at Ford know its been edited, I don't think they'd be able to do much anyway.......

I'm just paraniod its gonna give me grief while Im on the highway up north in the middle of the night.....

When it happens, the thing loses all power and throttle and I could see that being a bit of a drama when you've got a Bdouble behind you at 110ks you know..... :censored:

How old is your battery...found when mine was dying on the BF if it didn't start properly I'd get all this weird sh*t happening.

Is this happening as you're driving along or when you first start it?
