Hi to all. Just want to say awsome forum with allot of info. I purchased a 2009 Teritory ST ( Sport Tuned by Ford) about two weeks ago. Known as a Turbo Ghia by you guys. First did a complete 76mm exhaust with cat removal. I then installed my tuned file using Dreamscience DFS 3000 ( same as C.A.P.A tune).

My car is back at Ford, drove it for 1 week. It developed a bad misfire, so they replaced the plugs. The two rear plugs were completely shot as there was no porcelain around the electrodes on the inside and the one point was melted. They do not know if it was bad plugs or what caused it. Any info about this will help.

Anyway with new plugs in it still has misfire under load. They are looking at fitting new coil packs. Could the coil packs be at fault for fouling the plugs so bad.

Don't know why but first thing they asked me if the car was on a Dyno. Any info will help.

I also read about the second induction you guys do on the TTG but cannot seem to find any pics, if any body can maybe point me in the right direction. Any info on modding this vehicle would be appreciated as no one in South Africa has allot of knowledge about this vehicle.

If I receive my car back want to fit boost, oil pressure and oil temp gauges. Will still have to find out where to connect the sensors.

Anyway a good day to all.

That sounds like some serious detination mate. Was the car dyno tuned after the tune was installed? It's possible the the misfire could be due to a coil pack failure, i would be concerned about the state of the two rear rods and pistons if the detination is bad enought to destroy two plugs.

Sounds like an issue with your tune, it might be over boosting due to bigger exhaust and running lean if the tune was made for a standard car, or it might just be a bad tune.

I'd load the stock tune back in and see how it goes.

And I wouldn't go modding the car any further until you can find someone to tune it.

Also, good to hear they are selling the Territory in South Africa.

sounds like a bad tune.......who tuned it? unless you know exactly what you are doing I would be taking that exhaust off, putting it in the garage and putting the stock one back on, flashing back to stock. replacing plugs checking coil etc. Then once you've done your research I would set out on a mod plan.....

No the car was not dyno tuned and it is a generic map supplied by Duigan Brothers in South Africa. (www.duiganbrothers.co.za). The software can be veiwed on www.dreamscience.co.za. According to them they have tuned a couple of them and running well. I am very concerned at the moment. I had a XR5 previously and was modded to the bone with no problems. It had 210kw and 460nm and traded it for the Teri as the next step was bigger turbo on the XR5.

I will check back with Duigan Brothers immediatley and will keep you guys informed about the outcome.

Cheers :verysad:

did you regap the plugs after installing the tune? If there standard gapping it will blow out & miss. The damaged plugs may lead to something a little more serious possibly.

No I did not regap I was not aware of this. According to the Ford mechanic the gap is 0.9. Is this correct or should it be smaller.
