Ba Mkii Short To A Fg Fpv Short

I looked everywhere and could not find the answer so I have had to post the question.

Does anyone know the difference if any between the BF MKII and the FG FPV short

motors? Also will the FG FPV short, bolt into a BA MKII with all standard BA parts I.e

manifolds, cross pipes, engine mounts etc? What kw should the FG FPV motor handle?

The FG block has different engine mounts so won't be a straight swap.

The FG F6 motor also has lower compression pistons, but aside from that its the same as far as we know for now.

How much power are you chasing? The motors should be safe into the mid to high 300's, however its all up to the parts and tuning. The strongest motor can be destroyed by bad tuning...

Yeah mate it will fit straight in all you need to do is grind a tiny bit off your engine mount as it hit a section of the new block:spoton:

My buddy F6_charlie is running that setup.

But if I was you idd drop a 08 phoon motor in, I just did that option its a bit cheaper and its the same comp ratio as the ba.

The BF MkIII wagon and FG both use the same block, and some late BF MkII sedans use the FG block too as the changeover happened a few months before the FG went into production. The FG style block has 2 dipstick holes in it, one at the front for BF, one at the back for FG, and one hole is plugged with something called an avseal. Plugging the rear whole should be all you need to do.

Are you using the BA head? That might need to be investigated as the FG head is a little different, cams, staggered ports etc. Piston to valve clearance? Should be ok but might need to check.

I got the fg f6 bottom end in my ba mkI. justin at blacktrack performance in newcastle did it all. mine is pushing 392rwkw and its f*cking great!! maybe ring them if you want to know more

That price will be for the phoon motor mate after 06/06 all bf bottom ends are the same specs, and you couldnt find a block older than that sitting around at ford, im pretty sure they only ever keep like 8-10 short blocks at head spare parts office at a time?

So yeah you will be getting a late 07 at the latest

if you do get a fg motor to will have to modify the mounts but nothing major. pretty sure the rest bolts up
