The Noise Control equipment includes induction and exhaust and trumpet style BOV's, rampod style filters as well as reduced number of muffler boxes are illegal. The penalty is an on the spot fine as well as a visit to the EPA for a drive by noise test. No one can pass it unless everything is completely as standard because the test is the same as what a manufacturer has to do to get the car complianced. The fines are bigger for the workshop that completes the modifications.Quite frankly the Policeman who got the modification done to his car is a hypocrite and has no place working in a Highway Patrol office. We all love to modify cars (especially me) but unless it is illegal there's no point as you lose credibility and respect! If you do have the mods done, just don't tell anyone LOL Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/5621-turbosmart-bov-installed/#findComment-44650 Share on other sites

It's not as if the car's going to go any quicker. Good Blow off valves are design to vent the pressure build up between the turbo and the throttle. Doing this prevents this back pressure from rapidly reducing the turbos speed therefore reducing lag. So it will make a difference but small. This guy is just after the noise and the wow factor when people look under the bonnet. :sleepgrey: Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/5621-turbosmart-bov-installed/#findComment-44683 Share on other sites
