Hello Everyone,

I pick up my 2009 NITRO XR6T ZF Auto on 17/04/2009 and I am very interested in getting the potential out of this car.

I have a couple of questions about mods;

1) Should I wait until the engine has loosened up before I start tinkering, I.e. 10-15,000 klms

2) given FG has a different turbo to the BA/BF (I am led to believe anyway) is there a Brissy tuning house with experience with the new setup

3) has anyone here had issues with modding and factory warranty - I am thinking of a flash that can be returned to factory settings for service / warranty

Thanks in advance, I will post some piccies when I get her - I can't wait!!!!

Cheers, Beers.

paul @ elite auto has a 11 second fg - so I think he may know a bit :sadcase: but in regards to the flash question I think ya outta luck they can tell if it has been flashed - especially if there is a driveline warranty claim

oh and :thumbsup: just be careful it is a nut house in here

I would probably wait till you've got around 4000k's before modding and make sure you run the car in properly. Fully exercise the engine and don't be shy with the go pedal.

Wait till you have changed the oil to fully synthetic then go for it.

Just remember if you mod it dont expect ford to pick up the bill if you break it.

I had my tune done at 700km, one of the very first fg's around too

Engine gets run in harder and gets used to mods and therefore is stronger :D Dont quote me on that though :P

My G6ET dropped number 3 piston just over a week ago when the car only had 907kms on it from new, first things the ford dealer was told to do was pull the ECU and send it back to Ford engineering for checking etc.

They were very skeptical and were pushing the idea that I had "flash" tuned the car (which I had not done, the car was bog stock), finally today they have given the go ahead for a complete new engine and all ancillary parts.

As they say.....You play you pay
