on my dash where it indicates what gear (auto) the car is in keeps flashing and only takes off in third gear.. if you disconnect the battery and reconnect it it will be fine for a day or 2.. im re-flashing it again once it fixed it but it doesnt seem to be doin anything at the moment any ideas??? thanks

Can't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure that is the gearbox's limp mode - in other words, its shagged. I'd say its an overheating problem or clutch pack issue

it is limp mode, I have an auto with a 2500 stally and if I "stall" it up too many times like 3 times in a row the comp thinks the gearbox is slipping and goes into limp mode for 10 minutes I would take it to a pro and get it checked before it hurts more in the wallet

I experienced same problem last year,thought box was gooone. Took it to transmission mechanic,he used diagnostic tool and to my relief ,he found 3 gear solenoid was shaged, he changed the solenoid and $70 later car was back to normal

thanks alot guys its goin to RDP to be put on the scantool on monday. it has a big PWR trans cooler on it so shouldnt have gotten too hot. thanks for the replies.
